I was considering repainting the exterior of our Montgomery 15. Discussion on this group convinced me otherwise and I just spent some time polishing. That polishing ended up the way for me to go and I am happy I didn't mess with putting paint on the exterior (other than the bottom!). Communicate with Roland Cleveland, maybe he will respond here on get.in touch with him through the MSOG Facebook page, and discuss how to paint a Mboat. Cutting corners will result in poor finish and longevity. Is the current gel coat damaged? IMO unless it is really really really bad buff out the smooth parts, wax, and then be sure to wax every fall and then again in the spring. :: Dave Scobie
