Greetings, Just got back to work and found the correct date for the NWPotter group at Lake Pend Orielle, ( North Idaho ). the correct dates are July 12 & 13. Tom, thanks for your note re: water level there. I passed that back to the NWPotter contact and will advise if I see any response on it. I hope it has been considered. Do you know if the level would still be down at that time? (You may contact off list if you prefer) On a high note, "Pelican" got out to for the first season sail this last weekend. The winds sere supposed to be 15, but I think we saw 10 to 20, and though the wind did moderate, the waves were 2-4 ft. with more than the occasional whitecap. The purist that I am, ( I like having the boat right side up and under me,) we opted to bare pole sail, (since we were already out there) and run the OB for its spring break in. Then is when I was glad for the 3.3 Merc. It never missed a beat and we never ran above 2/3 throttle, though there was a reserve margin if we needed it. That 15 foot Lyle Hess design handled those waves with incredible ease. That really boosted my confidence in it, and the only other boat out was a 30 foot something and they commented on how "those Montgomerys are bullet proof aren't they?" I think they were right.
