I changed the sliding gooseneck mount to a fixed mount. I did it primarily because the boomkicker works better if the boom is fixed. When I reef lower sail and just eye ball the reef cringle above the boom. Then I make up the jiffy reefing. I have a dinghy mainsheet attached at the mast base with a hook on the other end. I hook the reef cringle and tension in until the sail looks right.
