Steve, On my original Trailrite trailer, the centerboard and front of the keel rested on a roller. I didn't like that arrangement being convinced that it contributed to the fracturing of the fiberglass around the pin on which the centerboard pivoted. When I had my new ezloader trailer assembled, I mounted a board down the center line to catch the centerboard in the unlikely event it ever got loose during trailering but kept all the weight on the bunks.
