Jon- I happen to have an old m-10 mast standing in the corner. Where do you live? Shipping is the problem. jerry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jon Freeman" <jon@jonfreeman.net> To: <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, October 15, 2008 5:46 PM Subject: M_Boats: M-10 Sailing Rig Help Request
Hi folks -
I just picked up a M-10 that is nearly complete. The hull has been abused, but is very recoverable. The sail is a little dirty, but in good shape. I have the rudder, gaff, boom and dagger board. However, NO mast! I can probably design one, but would really like to make this as close to original as possible.
Anybody happen to have the same gaff-rigged M-10 (to share pictures/dimensions), OR a design sketch? I pinged Jerry M., but no response yet. Thought I'd try the group.
Here's a little more data:
Hull number appears to be #271.
Sail dimensions are (I hope close is good enough for now):
Foot - 103" (about 6" curve downward from horizontal)
Leech - 179"
Luff - 59"
Head 105"
The hull has molded-in side seats, but no bow or stern seats. There are oarlocks.
All in all, this should turn out to be a beautiful little dinghy with a little patchwork and paint/varnish.
Any info you all might provide would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Jon Freeman
