Scott, I believe Rich has replace the normal M15 tiller with a J24 tiller. Based on his feedback as well as Connie's, I replace my tiller with a J24 tiller. It has to be milled to size to fit the rudder but it works quite well. The steering location is quite comfortable without requireing a tiller extension. I did move my tiller extension to the J24 tiller and use it when I steer standing up. I frequently stand while sailing downwind or motoring. The tiller extension cannot be left in the J24 tiller without a means to lock it in place when not being used. The J24 tiller is curved as it has a nice rise to it which raises the hand position a few inches. When first in use the longer tiller seems awkward when switching sides during a tack but you quickly adjust to this. Over all I really like the longer, higher tiller. Thanks to Rich for the idea! I've had the opportunity to sail "Really" in 15 plus knot winds this spring on several occasions and I want to again let you know how much easier it is to sit all the way forward with little effort while sailing with the new "one-foot longer" tiller when single handing. Rich Cottrell
Rich, Remind me where you got this tiller? Did it otherwise get in your way?
