Merry Christmas Sean and Jo, and everyone: Sean and Jo, thanks again for your hospitality on our trip south in October to bring home our "new" boat. As Larry mentioned, everything is blanketed in snow up here and I continue to work on finishing the inside of our house remodel. I was able to rent shop space on the lot next door and the Monty is stored inside for the winter. This is great as I can begin to take off deck hardware in preparation for rebedding to fix leaks. I have a guy in Alaska interested in my Halman 20. He is talking about sending a down payment and coming to pick it up in the spring. Another possible long distance boat purchase. Need to sell it so I can finance my new boat project. I know I'll have lots of questions as I start working on the boat in the spring, and will appreciate input from this forum. Sean the detailed descriptions and pictures from your work on Dauntless have already been a huge help (and I haven't even started yet). One question I do have to any of you that has a 23 with the centerboard winch mounted on the top of the centerboard trunk! Can anyone give me a lead on a replacement winch? I need a replacement for it and like the fact that it is a compact enclosed unit with no exposed gears, etc. I look forward to meeting more Monty owners and hopefully will have my 23 sailing in the San Juans with many of you in the near future.
