I attended the Cruiser's Challenge with my good friend Howie Goldbrandsen (AKA Capt Howie of the Socal Potters). We had a great time sweeping the back of the course making sure no-one got left behind! My racing tactics are a little (Lot) rusty! hahaha Honestly, the event was a real blast. The Monterey area is absolutely beautiful and a really fun place to visit. The gang up there treated us to a great time. Hat's off to them. I think that there were over 40 boats participating! WOW! The start line and mark roundings were a little crazy. Yes, it was blowing pretty good. Two boats were actually dismasted! (although there were extenuating circumstances in both cases) We couldn't have asked for better weather for a sailboat race! As always, Howie has put together a really neat slide show of the event, the people, and the area. Here's the link to it: _http://howies.net/socalpotter/cruiserchallenge2008/index.htm_ (http://howies.net/socalpotter/cruiserchallenge2008/index.htm) There were numerous Montys at the event and they did great!
