Hi Ran.. Looks like you should get the 4hp Yamaha, as the convenience of F-N-R is considerable, especially if you motor a lot. However, I'd reconsider and get the long shaft, for the reasons given. My M-17 has the cutout transom, but I still use long shaft motors..a 30 pound 3hp Seagull with F-N, and a 56 pound 5 hp Seagull with F-N-R. The admirable approves of the F-N-R, and I like the lighter 3 hp...guess what sits on the transom 90% of the time <GG> Harvey/ Ga M-17 Stargazer #294
