I bought the slugs from sailrite and they installed over the bolt rope, instructions are on their site, I used the ones the screw together. Piece of cake install, now I can flake the main and reef without a problem and if I race I can remove them and use the bolt rope, anyway that was the thought, I have not removed since I installed them. It really makes it easier. Has anyone changed from bolt rope to slugs on there sails . The reason I'm asking is when I lower my sails when reefing ,or going to motor , I have to reinstall the bolt rope .So I was thinking of mabe going to slugs and a mastgate . So what are the thoughts or been there done that , and no good . Thanks in advance for any advice Klaas
