Hi Sandra, I have absolutely no gasoline leakage when transporting the HONDA outboard, lying on a cushion in the cabin of the M15, but............... I close the air breather on the fuel cap so it can't leak out there; ...........and I shut off the fuel to the carburetor so it can't leak there either. If you shut off both the air vent on the gas cap (and be sure to open it when you want to run the engine or it will never start......or run..........) and the gas shutoff to the carburetor your problems should be solved.
