Hi Joe, Congratulations, and welcome to the list! I know there are a couple of other Montys around these parts, my M17 Lily being one of them (at Driscoll's marina). If that's the one you are referring to (ivory hull, opening ports, green stripe), then thank you very much for the kind words - Bob and his gang did a great job putting her together. Send me an email off list, and I'd be happy to show Lily off, and get a look at Chica Buena. I'm out most every weekend, either on the bay with the kids or off the coast when I'm by myself. The 17-nm sail from Misson Bay down to to the Harbor Police guest docs at Shelter Island is about as adventurous as I've gotten so far. That's a fun trip, although longer than it looks to be on the chart, given how far off the coast you have to venture to avoid the kelp forests that will stop you cold. There's a SoCal Potters shindig on Mission Bay later this summer that should be a good time small-boat get together. Hello All... I just finalized the purchase of 1977 M17 Chica Buena here in San Diego and have begun minor upgrades to get her dialed in and sail ready for Summer.
