posting pictures requires you to do two things - photo must be reduced in size from what most cameras now take 'native' (images by 'average' cameras are around 2-3MB ... if you have a fancy one double or triple this size). photos that i share by email i reduce in size to below 300KB. to do this i just load the photo into Microsoft Paint and reduce the photo to 20% of original size (in the Windows 7 version of paint look in the upper-left corner for the 'resize' selector in the 'image' section). once the image is resized i save the file as '<name> - small' so i don't overwrite the original 'high fidelity' image. based on the above no video will go across the listproc email system as a video will be HUGE. now the second thing - the picture must be _attached_ not inserted into the text of the message. (a detail thing - most email programs really are sending little www-pages, html code, that allow fancy fonts, backgrounds and images in the massage). the listproc only allows sending of text; no 'fancy stuff'. so a message with a in-text picture will be rejected or the image removed. so this means you need to look at your email program and see where you can 'attach' files. use the 'attach' option with a file that meets the size restriction listed above you should be set. a good way to know if you are attaching v. 'in-texting' ... don't 'drag and drop' the image into your email. the other is if you can see the image in the text. an attached file is usually noted up in the 'send to' and 'subject' areas of the email program with just a filename. the other thing is may image programs that allow you to store you camera's files allow you to 'send image'. most cases this will not work because these programs create an email with the photo in the text (ie, using html code) ... which will not work with the listproc. to slightly change topic - above does relate to a discussion had at least three or four years ago: should the listproc be moved to a modern forum? a forum would allow for 'modern' inclusion of photos and videos. the last discussion of going to a forum format was resoundingly rejected. does a forum v. listproc format need to be re-visited? anyhow ... hope this email helps folks understand how to send _small_ pictures. i've attached one to this email as an example. :: Dave Scobie --- On Fri, 3/22/13, mack warner <mackwarner007@gmail.com> wrote:
