Hi Niel, If the M15 port lights are the same/similar to those of the M17; when restoring our 1988 M17 I removed and rebedded the port lights. Ours are flat with a slightly beveled edge exterior-to-interior. I used clear silicone to re-bed them, as I believe that was what was originally used. Our port lights being Plexiglas I had to be careful as the silicone left an etching stain on the Plexiglas. Randy M17 Post Falls, ID On Tue, Mar 23, 2010 at 12:42 PM, <ndorf@surfbest.net> wrote:
I would like to redo my M15 port lights with new Lexan and was thinking I could use the existing ones as a template for the new ones. But I can't tell for sure until I remove them if they would actually lay flat or are slightly concave.
It looks like what's entailed is removing all the screws and I suppose there is some silicone caulking / adhesive sealant underneath...
Anyone know, or attempted this?
thanks, Neil
