Thank so much John for taking the time to follow up! I asked a surveyor I know if she had any suggestions. One call led me to a fellow who is a shipping broker and he spent the better part of a day in communication with me and found a good match! The boat was picked up the following day. She is here safe and sound and I am thrilled! J Really appreciate all who chimed in with suggestions! -----Original Message----- From: montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:montgomery_boats-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of John Roland Sent: Sunday, June 30, 2013 7:09 PM To: For and about Montgomery Sailboats Subject: Re: M_Boats: Shipping of a M17 Becky Just thought I'd chime in on this one. A few years back I too used a shipper I found through u-ship. I'd bought a Catalina 25 in upstate New York for my sailing club and needed to ship it to Annapolis MD. The shipper I found through that site was excellent. He delivered the boat on-time, in good condition and for a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend giving this site a try. Hi Becky,
I had a great experience with a Uship hauler that did some hauling for
Bob at Norsea/Montgomery boats. I looked at my Uship accounts but
they are not showing me history that far back and I cannot remember his name/company.
He put my M-23 on its trailer on his trailer which is specially set
up for boats on trailers and brought it from CA to MD for a very
competitive price. Maybe you can ask Bob Eeg if he can recommend that
shipper or someone similar?
Thanks
Robbin

You can hire independent haulers/operators through for example
uship.com and similar operations - my brother had a trailer brought
from VT to CA this way.

I am wondering if anyone has suggestions/experience with hiring a
shipping company to transport a M17 from another state?
Many thanks,
