Thanks to all for the kind words. I am always glad to host visitors to Alaska. I have lived here all my life and it is a spectacular place. Pretty short season for sailing, but an awesome place non the less. So when I have questions, do I just send out a group email? Is that how this works? My boat is a 15 and built in the early 80's. Yellow stripe. Thanks in advance, Wayne Sent from Wayne's iPad

Welcome Wayne,
I'm envious of your quick score there in the vastness of Alaska! Montys can be hard to come by, as others' welcome notes indicate. If I eventually get up to visit your state, I may ask if I can help you sail yours sometime... :-)
cheers, John S.

I just started sailing last summer. Just a little.
Bought a small open bow 14 footer built for 2. It was full of holes and a mess. Had it in the garage thru the winter, fixed it all up and painted it. It turned out really nice, but almost instantly I wanted a little bigger boat. Something to take my grand kids out on.
I saw a Montgomery for the first time a couple weeks ago and fell in love with it.
I live in Alaska and soon found out there was only a handful up here.
I just couldn't believe it when one showed up on Craigslist yesterday.
It's in my driveway now and I couldn't be more excited.
