I took the mast off the top of my M-23 in preparation to haul it up to Annapolis of inspection. Long story short I did not take it but did inspect it fairly closely. I do not see any fraying of the cable in the standing rigging and the shrouds are bolted to the mast with Tangs that are really heavy duty, in short the rigging and mast look over built (a good thing). Can anyone tell me what to look for to determine if anything should be replaced? Should I have any worries about the bolts going through the mast having corrosion I cannot see (probably yes, but I hate to unscrew bolts that may not get torqued enough when put back). I would love to not take the mast on a 2&1/2 hour round trip for no good reason. The barrier coat is going on and the center board is back in.
