Hi Bill, My 97 S-10, 2 wheel drive, with the V6 and auto works fine. If the ramp is VERY steep or slippery with sea grass or moss, there may be an issue with the 2 wheel drive. Perhaps a manual come-along as a back up is prudent to have on hand. I belive my towing limit is 4000 lbs.
