M_Boats: m15 speed

Yesterday I saw in my fish finder speeds of 7 mph 8 and 12 mph I could not believe it but the sudden acceleration and the breaking over the front wave was obvious. Have anyone seen this? Maybe turbulence over paddlewheel? It was really windy (white caps) broad reaching with full main and genoa.
