doug: i found the following for my 15 - * light wind sit on the leeward side to increase speed (this is a common trait for most boats) * for going to weather a heal around 10degress is good. if more, yes, you slow. the 15 will tell you when you become overpowered by weather helm. (she is better at telling you when overpowered than the 17.) * when going off the wind keep the boat flat (except in light air the read first comment). BUT ... your sail setup may have different outcomes because of center-of-effort changes. dave scobie :: M17 #375 - SWEET PEA visit SWEET PEA's www-site :: http://www.m17-375.webs.com --- On Tue, 1/11/11, Doug Kelch <doug_kelch@yahoo.com> wrote I had a nice sail on lake Pleasant AZ last Sunday. The winds were variable as usual but I was playing with the angle of heel and the GPS (getting ready to win the Havasu Montgomery race). The M15 seems to sail faster in 6 - 10 kt winds when it is kept reasonably flat. At lower winds it seems to like a little more heel. What do you other M15 sailors think? How do alter the hull trim for different wind conditions to maximize your speed ( velocity made good)? Thanks Doug
