Well "Martini Yardstick" does have a better ring to it, I'll have to admit. Perhaps I should try a Martini, and then if I like it, I too can use the "Martini Yardstick." I could go for the "Cockburn's 20-year-tawny-port" yardstick, no problem. But that yardstick would probably allow me to spend too much on the boat, since it usually comes by the bottle ;-) So I'd better stick with Martinis, lattes, or ice cream :-) R. PS I'd love to hear what sort of yardstick rationalizations others use!
