I think rolling is recommended over folding for any nylon product, including tents. Folding can weaken the nylon at the fold creases . . . As I understand it, it's even better to "wrinkle" and "stuff" (cram?) than to fold. ----- Original Message ----- From: <htmills@bright.net> To: "For and about Montgomery Sailboats" <montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Friday, May 09, 2003 9:46 PM Subject: Folding Sails Howard, I've not particularly concerned myself with sail folding since mine are old and wrinkly anyway. I don't know of a good way to do it singlehanded. Another option, which is recommended by at least some sailmakers over folding is rolling. I think that is more singlehander friendly too, but presents a stowage problem. I keep looking at the long, slightly bowed space formed by the cockpit coamings and wondering if there wouldn't be a way to use it for storing rolled sails. Just a thought.... Tod
