John and Julie, Oh man....what can you say. You know we are pup people too. Bosun came to us after grieving the loss of our two cockers of 13 and 14 years, both within a 1 year period. We vowed "that's it...we don't want to go through this again..no more dogs". After two years we could not stop thinking about all the good times we had with them and how maybe that inevitable goodbye that all dogs come with, really IS worth it. Low and behold...The Bosun appeared. Not to fill the void of our old pals, but to make his own path in our lives. Well, I don't have to tell you or anyone else that knows us how much we love this crazy beast. (ask Larry how much he loves him after riding from the airport to Lake Havasu with him in the back seat of the truck....might be a different story! Larry was wearing a fleece jacket when he got in the truck......and a fur when he got out...sorry Larry! ) but we love him ( Bosun AND Larry!). Anyway, our thoughts are with you guys. Syd was a special little dog. Hang in there...our advice would be....don't do what we did and wait two years to begin enjoying the unconditional love only a dog can give you. We dwelled on the pain of losing our pups instead of celebrating the lives they shared with us for too long. Bosun the Giant (as Jo calls him) has brought us so much laughter and joy( and a few horrifying moments like when I saw Larry's fur coat in the rear view mirror!) we wouldn't be without him now. Sean, Jo and yes, of course...Bosun :-)
