I also replied with no response from Jerry. I think at least 6 of us have responded to this email. That's half of the dozen he wanted. I did, but didn't get a reply. I suspect that when Jerry is working and in his "zone", things like email don't rate. I know they don't for me.
I also included a suggestion to consider beefing up the tang and stopper pin arrangement. Since the tang of these heavy boards rest on the stopper pin, it can take a beating if the board rides up over something and then drops on it's own. My stopper pin had been replaced before due to damage, and was damaged again (bent) when I looked at it. An engineer friend suggested replacing the pin with a bronze bushing arrangement, where two pieces, about 3/4" to 1" in diameter with flanges on the outside are pushed in from both sides, and screwed together in the middle, resulting in a pretty solid piece spanning the trunk, and heavy enough for abuse. But for that to work, the tang on the CB would need to be shaped to fit it.
And if allowed to overbuild her as I was taught to do with farm equipment, the waterline of the boat would be right below the toe rail :)
Howard
