Thanks, John. I figured I couldn't go wrong ordering any issue featuring Bolger. I'm only going to order four or so issues from the start, so I want to capitalize on what I buy. --Craig ----- Original Message ----- From: JazzYachts@aol.com To: montgomery_boats@mailman.xmission.com Sent: Saturday, March 26, 2005 7:59 PM Subject: "Small Boat Journal"

For those of you who subscribed and retained your collections, are there 1981 and later issues in which I should be especially interested?

SBJ was uniformly good from the start. I don't think there was a single dispensable issue until it turned into "Metalflake Bass Boat Journal" at the end. I had a complete-from-pilot collection of SBJ. In a fit of divestiture, brought about by the arrival of bills related to the Folkboat's restoration, I sold the collection on eBay. But not before I had photocopied and bound in a notebook every Phil Bolger column. (I am Mr. Bolger's biggest fan.) I also photocopied the original Montgomery 15 review. Cheers, John
