M_Boats: BOTTOM FINISH

I will be keeping my new (to me) M15 moored on a fresh water lake in NW Indiana. Should I be concerned with the bottom finish? In the past I have finished my boats with an ablative bottom paint finish was wondering if a harder thin film finish (vc17m) would do.
