Ian, I bought the M17 with a broken mast and a modified bow plate. Someone had cut away most of the original, mounted a light there, and then put a chainplate on the top deck a bit aft of the original location. Here is a photo of how I got it. -Gerry

Some of you may remember the difficulty I was having last month finding an acceptable bow plate for my early hull #23 M-17. My brother ended up bailing me out by fabricating one along the lines of the original. Check it out in the photos. It is an awesome fit and captures the fiberglass flange very well. This was a big stumbling block for me and I am grateful for his contribution.
