I had the jam thing once too, I extended the pendant line to reach the genny winch and just pulled it loose slowly. Wasn't too bad once I thought of how to fix it! Jazz On Jun 16, 2016 9:08 AM, "David Rifkind" <drifkind@acm.org> wrote:
Interesting to see these variations on the centerboard tackle. I had a bunch of trouble with the pendant jamming on the winch. For a quick fix I put an eye strap on the bulkhead just under the winch and led the pendant through it. This is hard on the line, which has to make a bunch of sharp turns, but I’ve had no jams. It might be better to space the winch further out from the bulkhead.
There is a little too much space between my centerboard and the stop pin, and if the centerboard comes down too fast (like when unjamming the winch) it can push past the stop. When that happens it’s hard to get back into place.
