Hi, I'm glad to see that there is an active group of Montgomery owners here. We have been searching for the perfect(for us) boat for sometime. The M-17 meets most of our criteria and we're getting very close to placing an order when I stumbled on to a bunch of "stuff" on the net that suggested that the builder had some financial and credibility issues. If any of you have recent experience with the builder and can give me some info I would appreciate it. Also, I'm interested in knowing how easy(or difficult) it is for one person to raise the mast on the 17. I live in Portland Or. and will be using the boat on lakes, rivers and on Puget Sound. If there are any active Montgomery sailers in the Portland area I would love to hear from you. Thanks
Hi - I recently purchased a Montgomery 15 directly from the factory. I found Bob Eeg, the owner, to be honest and interested in us. He takes a great deal of pride in producing a quality product. We drove down to Ontario, CA in November (2001) to see the boat, which was still being laid-up in the mold. We gave him a $2,500 deposit at that time. In December we went back and picked up our new ³Brynn² on schedule. Everything was done as promised. He even had our new boat¹s name on the stern at no cost to us in a beautiful style script. And since we had ordered a swim ladder installed on the same side of the stern as the name, he also put our boat¹s name on each side of the boat as well and on his on initiative. All-in-all, it was a very refreshing and pleasant experience. I heartily recommend Bob and his quality boats. Dudley Peterson M-15 ³Brynn²
