As I recall from a Don Street book I used to own, he recommended replacing rigging with swage fittings every 5 years in a tropical, saltwater environment, and every 10 years in more temperate (but presumably still saltwater) settings. He said that with Norseman-type fittings, the expected rigging life would be much longer. -- David Fann Montgomery 17 Dulcibella On 6/21/02 12:31 AM, "Michael L Bowden" <bownez@juno.com> wrote:
Hi Connie,
I read somewhere ( maybe John Vigor) replace standing rigging every 10 years in SALT water conditions. But, like you mentioned, the problem is in the swage, not the wire.
