I mounted it just ahead of the bulge in the bottom of the hull in front of the centerboard trunk. Yes, I got it level with the waterline and I put it as tight to the hull as I could to minimize the silicon under it without leaving gaps. Didn't take much. ⎈--Gary ☺ On Dec 12, 2009, at 12:26 PM, Joe Murphy wrote:
Measuring from the compression post, how far forward did you mount it?? When you bedded the transducer, how much silicone did you use? Were you able to get it mounted parrallel to the water line? Hi: I mounted my depth sounder transducer inside the hull (no hole) forward of the centerboard under the V-berth, using silicon calk and making sure there were no bubbles under the transducer. It works fine.

Hi folks: Re M15 and installing a fish-finder. I've tried to find some info. on our site and the most reassuring( to me, that means no hole in hull) is from Randy Graves posted Dec.27/08. Of particular interest is location of the sensor.Randy, if you or anyone else has tried placement aft of the centreboard,I'd much appreciate learning of your success. As I discovered this past summer on L. Superior, rocks and "Li'l Nan" don't mix! _______________________________________________ http://mailman.xmission.com/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/montgomery_boats
