Thanks Harvey, Sounds like a good place. We took lessons on a Capri 22 as well. On other subjects, my wife and I took lessons together. I thought it worked out very well, for several reasons, including: *She really did not want to steer, and was happy to be the crew and concentrate on learning those duties. *My first tack resulted in the instructer bellowing: "Steve, you've done this before." That gave me a great deal of credibility in her eyes. I wish I had taken lessons many years before. On yet another subject, Steve Mc you can check the MSOG website for messages you missed during your e-mail curtailment. And the final subject, Steve, (I think) with the little Monty for sale, you may want to list it on the Trailer Sailor Classified board. There is no charge. http://www.trailersailor.com/forums/classifieds/ Steve R. M-15 #119 Lexington, KY --- Harvey Wilson <HarveyWilson@compuserve.com> wrote:
Hi Steve...
I've used Lanier Sailing Acadamy's boat rental....they have some decent boats. In fact, I learned to sail there.
I don't know what you'd like to rent, but the Capri 22 was one of my favorites. I'd call and reserve a fin keel if possible. They also have smaller and larger boats, like Catalina and Hunter 22's, an Ericsson 25+, Impulse 26 (awesome boat if the still have it!)
The boats are reasonably well maintained, and they're good folks to deal with if there's a legitimate problem. I had one with a Pearson 26 several years ago, and they only charges for an hour, even tho I was out nearly 2 hrs.
There may be other boat rental places on Lanier, but it's the only sailboat rental that I've had dealings with.
Regards,
Harvey/Ga
