We have had more than our share of rain too. This weekend though, including today has been great. Winds today built to about 12 - 15kts. Carolyn J dug in and took off. Heeled over but did not round up on a close haul. At first I kept the mainsheet in hand and played it in and out. Then I left the sheet locked in to see what would happen. She behaved really well. I am more impressed now than before. What a great boat. Talk to you soon. Hi Jesse,
Glad to hear that you had a great first and second sail and enjoyed the boat.
Now you know why we all are so passionate about a Montgomery.
They sail well; have proper storage space for their size, and are a joy. What more could you want?
As for Hondas:
They won't run if you don't open the fuel valve. Jesse, it's simple: no fuel no fire!
Even after opening the fuel valve fuel won't flow until you let air into the tank by opening up the breather valve on the gas cap.
I guess we've all been there - done that.
It's all part of learning the idiosyncrasies of your new toy!
But the main is, you are off and sailing...............
Oh, and remember the CB has to be up when launching and retrieving!
So, have fun, and please get the weather pattern to change. We're growing web feet up in Connecticut from days of almost constant rain.
Connie
