Well, I didn't comment the album before, because, in my opinion, it's not a good album, and I didn't want to be the first to speak about it just to say bad things.

Well, the main problem with this album is that we now are in 2003 and not in 1982 anymore.

When I listen to the CD, I suspect they made it to please fans who want to hear again something like ROY 20 years after.
But I would have prefered to be surprized by something more from the 21st century, as I was when I have listened to PGTW the first time.

I think Ivan's solo work from 1997 is much more enjoyable for me, I don't know if there have been remix of some of the tracks of the "Spell" album, but I'd be interested to hear them.

back to this new album, it sound very electronic and metalic, the same sounds are used in just about all songs, there's not a small piano track or instrumental track to make it more varied.
The lyrics are mostly meaning less.
and the last thing, it's only about 37 Minutes long.
Very short for an album of these days.

Well, sorry for this cretisisme, I'm still glad to have some new MWH music to listen to.

I think I will be brave AND say that I think this is BETTER than Pop Goes the World. But then again, I am one of those Hats fans that prefers Rhythm of youth to Pop Goes anyway. But it is truly fantastic. Most of the bands I listen to get worse and worse with age. The first album usually being the best one. Well, this MWH album just broke the mold, so to speak.

Tom

Got mine today. Now listening to it a second time. Who would've thought 20 years after Safety Dance we'd get a new MWH album (of course when I was 13 I couldn't imagine being this old). Overall I'm thrilled with it. Not as good as my favorite (PGTW, which would make my Top 10 albums of all time), but great to have. My wife, who's not a fan, will probably avoid my office for the next few days as I listen to it over and over.
Glad to hear about the remastered CDs as I recently posted that my bootleg of Freeways was acting up strangely. Whoever hears about ordering availability, please post it on the list.
Did anyone order the t-shirts? What did they look like? I'm confused by the description on the website for one of them.

PS Anyone from the Raleigh crowd left on this list?
