[math-fun] Thanks, Google, for scanning old math books !
I see that Google has been busy with book-scanning project. Some old math books have made it into their collection, including Tait's & Hamilton's Quaternions (10.8Megabytes): http://books.google.com/books?id=PpIKAAAAYAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=intitle... Muir's Theory of Determinants: http://books.google.com/books?id=mxgPAAAAIAAJ&pg=PA289-IA2&dq=determinants&n... Lewis Carroll's (yes, _that_ Lewis Carroll) on Determinants: http://books.google.com/books?id=mxgPAAAAIAAJ&pg=PA289-IA2&dq=determinants&n... Dickson's Equations: http://books.google.com/books?id=l0AAAAAAMAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=equatio... Collected papers of Cayley: http://books.google.com/books?id=nCwPAAAAIAAJ&printsec=frontcover&dq=subject... -- Bravo, Google!!
In this context, it occurs to me that I haven't mentioned here that I now work for Google, in the Boston office. I've been here about one month now. Since employment questions come up on math-fun from time to time, let me publicly say that if you want to work at Google, please send me email. It's a remarkable place. --Michael Kleber On 11/1/07, Henry Baker <hbaker1@pipeline.com> wrote:

I also work at Google, but in the Mountain View office, and would be willing to submit resumes internally. -- Mike Stay metaweta@gmail.com stay@google.com http://math.ucr.edu/~mike
Apropos of nothing in particular, we have a grandson who works for Google, in UK. R. On Thu, 1 Nov 2007, Mike Stay wrote:

You may all be aware of this site, but it was new to me. They do 3-D models of scientific and mathematical objects in glass and metal at pretty reasonable prices. http://www.bathsheba.com/math/
and she has a very prominent ad for her mathematical sculptures in the current issue of Nature, which I find impressive! Neil

I do not see where I can actually download the book on the page(s) given. Even with all security nightmares switched on. Am I missing anything?
