[math-fun] Draft of my March 2016 blog post
I've posted a draft of my essay "Believe It, Then Don't: Toward a Pedagogy of Discomfort" and would appreciate comments: https://mathenchant.wordpress.com?p=601&shareadraft=56e3307faf531 <https://mathenchant.wordpress.com?p=482&shareadraft=568d547f0934f> If you send comments via WordPress, keep in mind that they're anonymous by default, which may suit you or may not. I plan to publish, as always, on the 17th. Thanks, Jim Propp
It appears that the link I sent to math-fun is for some weird reason taking some of you to my already-published February essay "How To Be Wrong" rather than my not-yet-published March essay "Believe It Then Don't". I think it's a browser-dependent Wordpress glitch; I've been able to reproduce it on my iPhone but I don't understand it. Anyway, anyone who wants to read the new essay (which is about packing problems, the pigeonhole principle, proof, and pedagogy) and can't access it using the link I sent out should send me email privately and I'll provide a custom link. Tom Karzes kindly looked into this and figured out the problem: there are two URLs, one visible and one hidden. Not sure how this happened, but I'm guessing the fault was mine. The right URL is https://mathenchant.wordpress.com?p=601&shareadraft=56e3307faf531 . (I've tried both clicking on this link AND copying and pasting it into a browser window, so I'm pretty sure I've done things right this time.)
