Tests of Earth bacteria, to see if they could survive in Martian conditions, found most died, but 6 kinds of "carnobacteria" survived & grew, plus the Gram-negative bacterium "Serratia liquefaciens." However, their "Martian" conditions sounded to me pretty atypically nice, for Mars: 0C in 7mbar CO2 on agar.
