Has anyone seen this deformation before: d_s f(x) = f(x^s) - f(x) ? It's not generally linear, but if s=p^k for some prime p, integer k, then it's linear mod p. -- Mike Stay staym@clear.net.nz http://www.cs.auckland.ac.nz/~msta039
