[math-fun] Stupid GR question
Stupid GR question: Physicists talk about the expansion of the universe. Wouldn't it be equivalent to talk about the compression of time? Since there are 3 space coordinates & only one time coordinate, wouldn't Occam's Razor suggest modifying "t" rather than the other coordinates? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metric_expansion_of_space
I assume you mean as an alternative to acceleration of the expansion; not the expansion itself. The problem would be that there are other measures of time, such as the frequency of light emitted from atoms by which we see the distant galaxies so you would need a theory that explained that they also changed.
