I was writing today about my once-upon-a-time grade 13 mathematics teacher who, every time a student carelessly referred to something on the blackboard with the pronoun "it", would shout out: "It! Shoe polish." Now, I believe It! was a brand of shoe polish at one time, but I can't seem to find an online mention of it. Anybody?
