Is it just me, or does anyone else think that "Weapons of Mass Destruction" is a pun on E=mc^2 ? Of course, if I learned physics right, the mass isn't really "destroyed", but converted into energy. And even the resulting energy still exerts the same gravitational force. And E=mc^2 works even for chemical weapons, and, indeed, for bows & arrows. So, the phrase "mass destruction" is ultimately a hollow phrase -- a distinction without a difference.
