[math-fun] Name that construction set
I remember from my childhood a construction set you could buy whose components were small plastic disks that had four radial slots in them, spaced at 90° angles. Each disk could have up to four other disks fitted into its slots. Does anyone recognize the construction set in question from this description of it? Thanks, Jim Propp
I had some like this: http://www.timepassagesnostalgia.com/&searchkeywords=Deelie+Bobber But the Google says that there are some current ones going by the name Interlox: https://www.amazon.com/Guidecraft-Interlox-Discs-Interlocking-Construction/d... Not sure about the one you remember from your childhood, but "Creative Kids Flakes" seems to be pretty popular today. It has 8 slots rather than 4, but presumably one would be able to construct anything with these that could be made with the 4-slots version: https://www.amazon.com/Creative-Kids-Flakes-Interlocking-Construction/dp/B07... Here's an image showing how they link together: https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/81g78MT017L._SL1500_.jpg Tom James Propp writes:

It was definitely Deelie Bobbers! Thanks. (I misremembered the number of slits; it's eight rather than four. Also, I misremembered the name as "Deely Boppers", which is something else entirely.) Jim Propp On Thu, Jun 20, 2019 at 11:40 PM Tom Karzes <karzes@sonic.net> wrote:
