Re: [math-fun] Any way to blame the computer for this braino?
This mailing was originally just a vocabulary exercise for "the kids" to correct "resentful". But now I'm stumped: "This Hubble Space Telescope image of the giant, petulant star Eta Carinae is yielding new surprises." Anyone? —rwg On Sat, Jun 29, 2019 at 10:54 AM Bill Gosper <billgosper@gmail.com> wrote:

The Sacramento Bee once tried to enforce political correctness with a spell-checker, and printed the headline: Latest round of tax hikes designed to put city back in the African American.
Looks like quote originally came from NASA's hubblesite.org ( https://hubblesite.org/contents/media/images/2019/18/4505-Image). Second graf includes "The star, the largest member of a double-star system, has been prone to violent outbursts,...". So maybe "petulant" is just a metaphor taken too far.
