Could you provide a link for the "Baker & Tayek lists" my attempts to find it (them?) with google failed.

Ray - Hello. I don't know who's keeping the list of mathematical surprises but I have a few suggestions: 1. Twin prime conjecture (answer still unknown SFAIK) 2. Chromatic number of the plane ( " ) 3. Simple proof of Fermat Little Theorem Steve
hi sbg, long time no hear. i found the list at: http://divisbyzero.com/2010/08/18/mathematical-surprises/ thanks At 05:48 PM 9/21/2010, you wrote:

Funsters, What could be more math-fun than building a large geometric sculpture? If you are in the DC area Oct. 23-24, you can help me put together a metal geometric sculpture on the Mall. I will be at the AMS booth of the US Science and Engineering Festival. The form is based on a new way to make a gyroid surface, using only equilateral triangles. For details of this surprising construction, see: http://www.georgehart.com/DC/ George http://momath.org/ http://georgehart.com/ P.S. I have made the jump from Stony Brook University to being Chief of Content at the Museum of Mathematics, which will open in Manhattan in 2012. Ideas for fun interactive hands-on math exhibits are most welcome.
