A lot of press hoopla just arose over this paper http://arxiv.org/abs/1401.5761 proposing "gravitational collapse produces apparent horizons but no event horizons behind which information is lost." What the heck is he talking about? Another paper claimed to be relevant (and which looks like it comes a lot closer to saying something comprehensible) is http://arxiv.org/abs/1401.0288 -- Warren D.
