Is there a simple example of a structure that satisfies every vector space property except: k1 * (k2 @ V) = (k1 * k2) @ V k1, k2 in the underlying field K; @ == Field/Vector operation TIA - Guy

Let the vectors be real numbers (with the usual addition), and let the scalars be complex numbers (with the usual operations). Define k @ V to be the product of V and the real part of k. -- Fred W. Helenius <fredh@ix.netcom.com>
