Well, there has to either be a strategy for the cat or else a strategy for the other player. (Which it is will clearly depend on the initial position of the barriers.) I find it to be lots of fun to play. So far the cat won about 2/3 of the time. It's kind of a cross between Hex and Go. --Dan On Nov 10, 2014, at 4:25 PM, David Wilson <davidwwilson@comcast.net> wrote:

P.S. The game really should count the human as having won as soon as the cat is entirely surrounded by barriers. On Nov 10, 2014, at 4:25 PM, David Wilson <davidwwilson@comcast.net> wrote:

Perhaps, but if you build a fence around the Serengeti, do you get to brag that you've caught a lion?

Not at all. Hundreds of lions. --Dan On Nov 11, 2014, at 2:53 PM, David Wilson <davidwwilson@comcast.net> wrote:

The strategy is to build a barricade that traps the cat and then squeeze it down to one spot. It's like playing Go; don't try to block close to the cat and don't try to build the barricade sequentially, try every-other-one out ahead of the cat. Brent On 11/10/2014 4:25 PM, David Wilson wrote:

Yes, very reminiscent of loose ladders and nets in Go. On 11/10/2014 09:52 PM, meekerdb wrote:

This is very similar to Conway’s angels and demons: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Angel_problem On Nov 10, 2014, at 7:25 PM, David Wilson <davidwwilson@comcast.net> wrote:

Note that they've placed their ads to cover the reset button and the link to the game developers. You can play it full screen here, without the naughty ad placement: http://www.infinitecat.com/games/catchcatLoader.swf On Mon, Nov 10, 2014 at 4:25 PM, David Wilson <davidwwilson@comcast.net> wrote:
