Funsters, What could be more math-fun than building a large geometric sculpture? If you are in the DC area Oct. 23-24, you can help me put together a metal geometric sculpture on the Mall. I will be at the AMS booth of the US Science and Engineering Festival. The form is based on a new way to make a gyroid surface, using only equilateral triangles. For details of this surprising construction, see: http://www.georgehart.com/DC/ George http://momath.org/ http://georgehart.com/ P.S. I have made the jump from Stony Brook University to being Chief of Content at the Museum of Mathematics, which will open in Manhattan in 2012. Ideas for fun interactive hands-on math exhibits are most welcome.
