That can't be right--they have different units! Perhaps energy corresponds to information *at a given temperature*. Landauer's principle says the energy required to erase a bit is E >= k_B T ln 2
of that in ways I didn't understand when I had a copy. But I do remember his explaining gravity in terms of information:
