If you don't do it right, you can get in a situation where a round can't be done. Here is a way, I'll illustrate with 5 teams:

1 stays in place and 2, 3, 4... follow each other.

1 - 2
6 - 3
5 - 4

1 - 3
2 - 4
6 - 5

1 - 4
3 - 5
2 - 6

1 - 5
4 - 6
3 - 2

1 - 6
5 - 2
4 - 3
